The hilarious star of Miranda and Call the Midwife is set to return to our screens. But this time her mum will be taking centre stage.
If there has been a Miranda shaped hole in your television then you will be pleased to know it’s not long now until she is back. Though her comeback might not be what you are expecting. An exact air date has not yet been confirmed but show should be on our screens later this year.
The show is called Down the Garden Path with Dee Dyke Hart and will feature Miranda’s mum sharing her expert knowledge. She will present the show while her daughter, who is famous for her writing, acting and comedy skills, will be doing the show’s narration.
The show will air on More4 and will feature Dee who will travel across the UK to share her expert gardening knowledge. From everyday people who want to perfect their own little gardens to celebrities – Dee will homes far and wide and offer advice on how to spruce up flat looking flowerbeds and make potted plants sing one again.
Miranda claims that she has not inherited her mother’s green fingers. In an interview with The Sun she said: ” I may not know a thing about how to garden but my mum is amazing. She wills be with immense joy and laughter as she talks about her passion.”
Miranda is also busy preparing for her West End debut. She is cast as Miss Hannigan in the theatre production of Annie with previews for the show starting on 23 May. The show will open at The Piccadilly Theatre on 5 June.
Miranda and her mother have appeared on television together before. They did a special appearance on Googlebox for Stand Up to Cancer. Mother and daughter were joined by Patricia Hodge who play’s Miranda’s on-screen mother in the sitcom Miranda.
Down the Garden Path with Dee Dyke Hart is a three part series which is being made by King Bert Productions. Miranda is the production company’s director alongside David Walliams, Conor McCaughan and Jo Sargent. It was established in 2014.
