Here Are Our Ultimate Men Of The Year For 2017

We may be Woman and Home, but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate the men we’ve admired throughout 2017!

And with big royal announcements, a new home for the beloved Great British Bake Off and countless blockbuster film and TV releases to look back on, there’s plenty of contenders for our shortlist.

Whether inspirational, entertaining or inspiring, these stellar guys have certainly made our year…

Brendan Cox

Husband of tragically murdered Labour MP Jo Cox Brendan has since dedicated his time to campaigning for tolerance and change. His self-penned memoir of her life – ‘Jo Cox: More In Common’ – was released in June 2017, inspiring the #moreincommon hashtag in her name.

This Christmas, Brendan is spearheading The Great Christmas Get Together movement, inspiring others to share a mince pie with a lonely neighbour.

Noel Fielding

Great British Bake Off superfans were pretty skeptical when Noel Fielding was announced as one of the predecessors of the great Mel & Sue this year – but he quickly won viewers over with quirky sense of humour and kindness towards the bakers.

Top marks for his stylish shirt choices, too!

David Walliams

Comedian and Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams is an accomplished children’s author too, and has dedicated a lot of his time this year to school visits, and encouraging youngsters to read.

Making a particular effort to visit children affected by the Grenfell and Manchester tragedies, we think he totally deserves his spot on our shortlist.

David Attenborough

The legendary broadcaster has been back on our screens this year with the incredible Blue Planet II – which was recently named the most-watched programme of 2017!

Prince Harry

Our fifth-in-line has certainly had a great 2017 – rounded-off by announcing his engagement to American actress Meghan Markle. Bring on the royal wedding!

Earlier this year, Harry also pledged his support to mental health causes, as well as speaking out on the 20th anniversary of his mother Diana’s death.

Sadiq Khan

Since beginning his tenure as Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan has campaigned for inclusivity within the capital with his boundary-breaking #Londonisopen movement.

Idris Elba

Is there anyone cooler than Luther actor Idris Elba? As well as starring in films with the likes of Kate Winslet, Matthew McConaughey and Christ Hemsworth this year, Idris announced in November that Luther would be back for a new series in 2018 – we can’t wait!

David Beckham

The footballing star has charmed us all year round with his adorable family photos and continuous charity work – particularly at the Pride of Britain awards in November, where he surpised young football fan Moin Younis with his accolade.
