Our latest cover stars reveal what is is about woman&home that they truly love
Today’s shoot has been extra special because I had Sam (Caroline’s husband) with me – and Emily and William (their children) came along too. w&h captures the fact that we all have busy lives and we’re all different; there’s something for everyone.
Karren writes a monthly column in w&h, helped judge our beauty awards and was one of our many spokeswomen for Gen Y Not.
I love the variety in woman&home. In fact, the title is a bit misleading. The content is more sparkly and interesting than the name implies – it’s a rather 50s name, but it’s a very modern magazine. We all love our homes and decorating, but there’s so much more in w&h and it’s a really stimulating, inspiring magazine full of great reads.
woman&home is the friend who always has a sparkle in her eye
I love the way w&h celebrates women and their diversity. It doesn’t criticise women for not fitting a particular pigeonhole. It’s full of new experiences and thing to do – I’m all for that. A magazine that embraces and encourages women – bravo!
The older I get, the less time I have, and I love woman&home because it has everything I want contained in one place. At this stage of my life, I’m not looking for gossip. I want a magazine such as woman&home that reflects the life I lead, with fashion and beauty advice for real women, and stories about real women as well as interviews with celebrities who I can relate to. And recipes – it’s all about the recipes for me. The other day, Ben cooked a recipe I had cut out – I was so impressed, and it was delicious!
It’s a top-class magazine that effortlessly combines glamour with the practicalities of day-to-day life. Every woman and every home should have a copy!
I really believe woman&home is a good, intelligent magazine for such a huge age range of women. I particularly love the fashion pages in it, and the recipes. It’s a really high-quality publication and the printing standards are excellent – it’s a thrill to flick through the pages.
I love the fact that it’s making a point that sexiness isn’t something that stops at the age of 26 or 27. And I really enjoyed the shoot – everyone was nice and unpretentious and grown-up. It was so nice having a stylist give me an outfit that looks fantastic. I’d never normally wear the feathers, but they brought out my hidden rock chick and I might have to start – it’s never too late!
It was fantastic at the shoot to have someone to style me and choose clothes to suit my body shape. My favourite dress was the short black dress by Tory Burch – it felt really sassy and cute. I hate getting dressed for the red carpet but would love wearing that – it gave me confidence.
It’s a real treat when I buy my copy of woman&home. The human-interest stories are really uplifting, and there are so many good ideas in the home and cookery pages. The fashion is always inspirational but affordable, and show cases clothes for women of all sixes and ages.
