Lily Jones is better known by her baking pseudonym, Lily Vanilli. Since
setting up a small market stall selling spectacular handmade, bespoke
cakes three years ago in East London, Lily has become something of a
cake-making phenomenon. Famed for her frighteningly realistic
bleeding heart cupcake,
each weekend, tourists and locals would flock to her stall to marvel at
the latest delicious creation, while sipping on homemade margaritas and
listening to one of Lily's favourite bands. One of those regulars was a
food journalist. It wasn't long before Lily's indulgent creations
popped up in Harrods, were exhibited in the V&A Museum (yes, they're
that impressive!) and a thriving bakery at the heart of London's most
famous flower market, Columbia Road, opened. She then released her first
book of gothic-inspired cupcakes, called
A Zombie Ate My Cupcake.
