Could somebody pass the chocolates, please?
After last year's shocking spectacle, in which the much-wished-for Crawley heir was born and series favourite Matthew was unceremoniously killed off in a car crash, Downton fans are forgiven for feeling anxious.
Rightly so, as this year's Christmas special looks just as dramatic. Lady Rose MacClare's 'coming out' will see the Crawley family taking a trip to Buckingham Palace, where she will meet the King of England himself.
Unsurprisingly, scandal pursues, the scale of which could threaten to usurp the monarchy!
Catch it all on Christmas Day at 8.30pm on ITV 1
