Saying thank you to the fallen
The Duke and Duchess are playing a pivotal role in the commemorations. They were greeted by the King and Queen of Belgium and French president Francois Hollande as they arrived to take their seats on the stage.
Catherine and William will also be attending a service in Mons later today. Other members of the royal family are also paying tribute to those who served. Prince Harry will be at an event in Folkestone later, while Prince Charles is at the National Service of Commemoration at Glasgow Cathedral and the Duchess of Cornwall is guest of honour at Westminster Abbey for a candlelit vigil.
You can also honour the fallen by switching off all lights and leaving only a single lamp or candle burning between 10pm and 11pm this evening.
