Thanks for all the suggestions. I tried using the grater blade on the food processor but that produced mostly onion juice and big unprocessed chunks. Will try the regular blade and pulsing. Picked another batch of zucchini last night so I'll try pulsing the onions tonight and let you know how I get on. Vinca - am at work and the recipe is at home so I'll PM it to you tonight (if I can see through the tears). Will try NeverEnoughTime's chewing gum tip and see if it works.
