I went back to the doctor, who admitted tearfulness and depression is a well-known side effect. But simvastatin is the cheapest drug fpor lowering cholesterol, so the one most commonly prescribed.

As for leg pain, I took CQ10 on the advice of a friend, and never had any leg pain. Might be worth a try.

I'm going to try some alternative remedies to lower my cholesterol - my choice.. If it doesn't work, the doctor has said he will prescribe some other drug
