I am obviously very lucky as I have been on 40g of Simvastatin for years, with no effects at all.

I don't really take it for cholesteral as that could of been sorted with diet, it wasn't that high, but I got a fatty blockage in one of my eyes and they treat that as if you have had a stroke, so I have to take it for ever and a day, plus asprin, which I'm not taking at the moment as one of my other tablets reacted with it and I was covered in bruises.............Such is life !!..

Worth a visit to the docs though ladies, if you think it is affecting you.
