Re: Lake Garda -but which town?

Hi JO, I agree with all bluebella says. We had fantastic holiday to Bardolino and walked in both directions alternate days/evenings. Also hired bikes but the paths were too busy with pedestrians so only did that once. It is lovely in the evening in Bardolino as they have a programme of free entertainment in the church/ square and grassy area ranging from pop to classical music. WE went on day trips to Florence and Milan and round the lake. Florence was a long way but worth seeing. Also went to Verona and Venice. As you can tell we are not sunworshippers but like to get out and see the area.. The ferries are really frequent and easy to use.
We only spent a few hours in Limone so cant tell you much about it.
You will have a fantastic time. As Bluebella says though go prepared for rain. We were there in early July and had quite a few wet afternoons but it was dramatic and over quickly. We felt the North of the lake wasn't as warm as the south bbut again might just have been the day we were there.
