Re: Lake Garda -but which town?

Well Bardolina could be the place for you Jo. We went as a couple too, and wanted the same things as you.
While we were there we went to Simonie (sp!) where we went up a fortress but then got rained on so didn't see much of the town, only the cafes!
The next day we got a bus to Monchesnie, which is a really lovely place. We caught a cable car to the top of Mont Baldo, which was fabulous. Arrived to clouds and it was freezing, then the sun came out and it was glorious. Had lunch in a lovely restaurant there, like a Swiss chalet, with the sun shining on us.
We wanted to catch a bus to Verona and Venice but didn't have time and wanted to enjoy the warm weather.
There is so much to go and see but we just ran out of time. We are actually thinking about going again to see the things we missed this time.
