There are insights galore into the human condition, but these are delivered within the context of a passionate and multi-layered love story. By means of visits to Rome, and via a shared understanding of the life and works of Caravaggio, both David and Elizabeth discover ways in which their damaged lives may be changed. This is a wonderful novel - a thought-provoking and entertaining read.
