re Fiona Phillips, I think we can take her remarks with a pinch of 'celebrity' salt.
I hardly ever watch her prog but once when I tuned in I was extremely surprised about her teeth - they looked different to when I had last seen her (they were blindingly white and she had a slight sibilancy to her speech). So she's right in that respect; when people have 'work'done, we all notice it.
The truth is that if you're in showbiz, you will have the procedures done to compete for work if nothing else, but mostly because modern HD cameras pick up on blemishes/wrinkles etc. A BBC newsreader (not particularly pretty either - miaow!) has recently sued her cosmetic surgeon for burning her face. I expect she was getting herself ready for the HD broadcasts.
I don't believe Lulu either when she says it's all down to her own line of cosmetics, nor Andie Mcdowell who flogs L'Oreal. I wouldn't buy their stuff, but I would be interested in the telephone numbers of their surgeons!
Finally, if you like such things, there's a really funny and interesting website called AwfulPlasticSurgery. Just have a gawp at that for 15 minutes!
