Hi I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in January 2006. I received fantastic surgery, care and support and was keen to pay something back. The Haddon Hall 10 mile Ribbon Walk was the inspiration I needed to get myself fit! Despite the grotty weather I thoroughly enjoyed doing the walk. My sister-in-law and I raised approximately £550 for Breast Cancer Care through this event. Two days later we held a sponsored walk at the school where I work school. Through this we raised a lot of money for our local Breast Care Unit. I felt remarkably fit and felt that my life was 'back on track.' This didn't last long though. The next day my achilles tendon ruptured. I underwent surgery to repair the tendon and I am now on another long road to recovery!! I am only glad that I was able to enjoy the walking and raise the money to help others facing breast cancer before my injury stopped me in my tracks.
