I have to confess at the begining of this post that I buy ready-made sponge puds....they are good and easy and that way I don't end up eating so much myself but OH's school pud desires can be indulged. That's my excuse anyway....and yes I do know how to make them.....don't like the kitchen full of steam tho' I must say. Anyway.....Reason for post? I have just looked carefully at the carton on the sticky toffee pud bought from Sainsburys last w/end......can't we make puds in England any more? This one FLEW all the way from ....wait for it.......New Zealand!!! I am horror struck! and I bought it!!!!who would think to look for the food miles on a sticky toffee pud.?? I think I feel a letter to Sainsburys coming on! Has anyone else noticed this pud phenomena? The brand name is "Aunty's" made for Old Fashioned Foods (uk)ltd.
Anyone join in on letter writing? I am truly horrified. Roses flown from Kenya are one thing but sticky toffee puds from New Zealand I just can't believe!
Mayday
