Melatonin & Jet Lag
      #512919 - 22/11/2009 20:34

Hi all
The older I get and the jet lag takes longer to get over. We are off to the California soon and I am back to work the day after return. I have been told that if I take Melatonin it will help with the jet lag. I thinks it helps you to get back into a proper sleep pattern. Has anyone taken this, what dose and when and did it work?

My husband has taken Melatonin and finds it works for him. However I'm not too sure as to dosage and whether you can actually buy it here in England? I think he bought his abroad sorry I can't be of anymore help. You will certainly pick it up in the states. I would just take the dose recommended on the bottle - hope this helps. Enjoy your trip - if it helps I have done a great deal of long haul trips and for me the jet lag is always the same - five hours time difference takes me five days on the return to get my sleep pattern back!!!! So know how you feel.

Alice

A lot of our clients in the clinic take it when they travel and swear by it.
You should be able to buy it in the states and get good advice there.

Thank you both. After a 10 hr flight I used to get back to norm after a day when we first started going over (youngest son lives there)but now takes me a week. Will get some there.
