fridgefreezer saga!
      #494684 - 27/10/2009 19:01

Just thought I'd share what I hope is going to be some good fortune. The fridge freezer died on Sat.and after a mad dash to the local electrical store where I was told Hotpoint electricals have a 5 yr warrenty I dashed home to search for purchase evidence. Low and behold, found said paperwork and phoned up to check whether or not I could still claim after 2 yrs and bingo, arranged for an engineer to call out this week to check it over. They will fix if possible but if not... replace! So maybe now I won't be so sceptical about shop policies @ £2.79 pm ... i might just be a winner... watch this space. Anyone else used this service? It was Currys

just an update really. The engineer has fixed the freezer, despite it being a 'frost free' design we never felt the need to Defrost it... hence the problem. His advice is to defrost and re start at least once per year... I am please with the result and he was punctual and efficient and I feel I've had my money's worth.
