I've been reading W & H for a long time now and love the idea of the ribbon walks - however - I would love to enter but am scared that I wouldn't be able to raise the minimum donation - £250.00 I think. Again, I would love to do one of these challenges like Bobby Moore Challenge or Walk the Great Wall of China but you need to raise so much money. How do people do it in this day and age of recession etc? Can you do it as a group? Love to know as I would love to get involved X

Hi Rainbow jo I was part of the W and H team last May that did the Ribbon Walk at Blenheim Palace. It was a worry for me too. I belong to a Forum Walking Group where I live and many of the group would have walked if it were not for the £250 .In the end I and one other walked and the others sponsored us. We both raised well over the £250 but I couldnot do it again next year as I couldnt ask friends and family again! It is an amazing event and we enjoyed it so much. It is well organised and I can see that it takes a good deal of money to put such an event on in the first place .But that having been said I ..Like you.. think it is a shame so many people are prevented from doing it. I also did the local Race For Life which is for all cancers and there was no minimum sponsor ship needed for that .Google Race for Life and maybe start with that one maybe.... Good Luck! I am a cancer survivor and I am so glad that I can walk!..... Hacve Fun! xx
