Just wondering when is the best time to book, do the rooms get cheaper if you chance it and wait until nearer the time,

I find them cheaper than most sites, used them to book a hotel in Exeter, they called me the day before to say the hotel had overbooked so they were upgrading me to another hotel which was 40 pounds a night more and they paid the difference. Don`t know about getting cheaper last minute.

I think sometimes they do, but if you are prepared to wait then sometimes you get a cheap deal from the hotel direct!!
We once turned up in York and phoned the hotel and got a £120 room for £35 per night, admittedly it was for that day, but as long as it isn't a bank holiday or a festival or something, there should be something!!

Sometimes if you just Google "cheap hotels" + name of the place you want, you can find other options which may be cheaper than Laterooms. Booking.com claims to be the cheapest. We used them to book near Amsterdam and not really impressed as, if there's a query, you have to go back and ask the hotel, not them.
I sign up to all the hotel offers and sometimes you can get a bargain. BUT as I posted on the main forum, Hilton are running a special offer of 2 nights for £166 at Cardiff but claim it's sold out when you want to book it!

I use late rooms but dont leave it to the last minute because its not just me I am making arrangements for and dates cant just be swapped about.
I also give me email to any chain that I stay in and get emails of deals most days from Brittania, Raddison and Park Plaza...always some really good offers.
Last best buy I got was 2 night B B & E D For 2 £ 78.00 in June in the midlands.

Dont stay in the Britannia near the Lime street station Bobcat, D and I stayed there on 2nd visit to liverpool uni and never again. First visit we stayed at a hotel near the conference centre and it was wonderful but thought we wanted something closer to uni the next time. Just looked it up and it was Jurys Inns at Keel Wharf. Breakfast was gorgeous.

Why not ring up some of the hotels direct now, and see if they have any specials on for the time you will be going? worth a try!?

I'd second coby28's comment. Avoid the Britannia Adelphi. There are lots of newer hotels in Liverpool, some near the Albert Dock. Now that the new Liverpool 1 shopping centre is open the Albert Dock, although not as vibrant as it once was, is well connected to the city centre and it's handy for the Echo Arena.
