I've got them on my nose too. I use Boots pore refining serum but it doesn't seem to do much. There was something in W & H where you can have treatments for it, but costs about £500 I think for a course. I'm thinking of trying Polyfilla LOL

Hi,

I bought a product from Clinique, but it only works as long as you use it, if you see what I mean, unlike Mrs Smith's polyfilla, which seems a better solution. I thought it would work progressively: the pores would gradually reduce, but it kind of skims over the top, and when I cleanse my face, there they are again.

I read that pore size was genetic, which I suppose is logical in a way, but fills me with a sense of hopelessness: not much point in trying to fill the holes in my DNA, I think...

Dont worry, so many of us have them even the celebs only they have all on tap to disguise them as much as possible! Use a good toner after you cleanse and i do think that Boots beauty serum does help over a period of time.

So right about the celebs, you only have to see photos of them taken in their normal lives to know that. We look more glam than a lot of them, it's just such a false image. As you say, we all have them, well most of us, but do think mine have got better since using Avon's AM/PM stuff for more mature skin and the wrinkles under my eyes have improved too. Never tried the serum. I still have greasy skin so wonder if it will make it worse ??!!

Carsma, I still have greasy skin and even using moisturiser can cause breakouts. Never had good skin, always had open pores but the good thing is I haven't many lines etc and I am 49.

Suzie, I envy anyone with good skin, mine has always been awful. I am hurtling towards 56, still with greasy skin, but as you say, I really don't have many lines, so must be a compensation I suppose. D seems to be going the same way and asks why she has inherited the worst from both of us !!

Well Suzie and Carsma I envy you both!
I am 49 still have greasy skin and large open pores and on top of that I have lots of wrinkles as well - where did I go wrong?

I tend to trowel on the foundation to fill in the holes - the best foundation I have found so far is Revlon Colourstay which does seem to help a bit.

My understanding of pores is that its genetic/age related. You cant make them smaller, even with toner, you just cover them with the best product which suits you........I find all these different products a nightmare!!! I am on the, less is more routine and my skin is much better for it, the absolute must is SPF.........

You are so right Woodym. Keep it clean and simple. Your pores are the way you skin breaths! If you have greasy skin you should still use a moisturiser (for greasy skin) and use it very sparingly.

Hi

Try using mineral foundations, I use bare escentuals, you can get it off QVC, but if you try ebay you will get it half the price!!

Open pores are hard to disguise, but this seems to be the best thing for me!
