Zara clothes
      #425511 - 20/07/2009 19:44

Hi ladies
didn't go to the Next sale, but went by chance into Zara. Not usually some where I shop , but in their sale I got a lightweight jacket with £50 off. !!

Love Zara clothes but the sizes

They always seem teensy weensy.

Glad you got a bargain!

I like their jumpers - they always have a nice selection of styles and colours. Some of their T shirts and tops are nice too. I also have a lovely jacket I bought there which is white and grey narrow stripes. It is one of those jackets that goes with anything - navy makes the stripes look navy, black makes the stripes look more black.

I have never tried any of their skirts and trousers - I know some of the sizes are weeny, but I am average sized and manage to get things there!

Hi Rosettastone, Vinca, and Nightingale,

Love Zara, but unfortunately, cant buy the clothes, too big for them, but can buy their bags and shoes when I can afford them.

Their stores in Spain always seem far better to me, and they tend to have the "Home Interior" areas in them which I love. I believe in the UK there are only two or three stores, where you can buy their interiors. Shame.

Plasmo x

I never used to go into Zara unless I was with one of my daughters worried that people would think I really shouldn't have the cheek to be in there-too old/too large. The other day I saw some rather nice things near the door so crept in to look then went further and further in. They do have some nice oversized shirts in denim and beiges and white-expect some people wear them as dresses with a belt-perhaps they ARE dresses. Also as Plasmo says-lovely bags-scarves and bags always fit! Clover

Hi Plasmo and everyone,
I too was always a bit shy of Zara but their sale looked good at the weekend and I ended up with an armful of stuff to try. Only bought one thing though, a long thin cotton jumper that is slightly fitted under the bust. The sizes are strange though - I'm a 12 but usually end up with a large. Much better sale I thought than Next, could find nothing in there.

Zara is a Spainish company so their clothes and sizes do come up on the small side I agree.

My mum got some good deals at the NEXT sale and our daughter worked there this year and over their recent four sale days.

Zara is the flagship chain store of Inditex Group owned by Spanish tycoon Amancio Ortega, who also owns brands such as Massimo Dutti and Pull and Bear .
Our daughter worked there for over a year in their large Bluewater store and during her holidays while at fashion uni in London. She was OK for their clothes as she is lucky and a tiny size 8/10.

Love Zara clothes and the reasonable prices but even being a size 12 with a good size best their large sadly doesn't fit me Jane. but gald gald you got something that fitted you from Zara.

Haven't had a spare moment this year to get to the sales but if I am honest I have far to many clothes already!

I really like their clothes, the whole family shop there. Love their tops especially and their cardis, also bought a lovely mac there last year. I also like their interior stores.

I hate the Next sale it is a mess and a bun fight and I won't do it even for the bargains.

Zara stuff is nice but it is small and none of their trousers sit right and I'm quite small. Still I am not one to worry about what size it is, so if I need to go up, that's ok.

Carsma x

I never used to bother much with Zara but one of my friends kept singing it's praises so I have started going in there more. I find a lot of their stuff looks a lot better when you try it on than it does on the hanger. Which is annoying as I loathe trying things on in shops - drives me mad!

But yes, I've got quite a few summer clothes from there this year. Not that we've had enough of a summer for me to wear them much..

Oh and I can't bear the Next sale either. Glorified jumble sale!

i thought Next Sale good this time round, bought loads of stuff this week-end.
i used to love zara ,got quite a bit of there stuff, but now stopped buying from them cause most of the stuff starts falling to pieces after a couple of washes and wears, infact i bought a t-shirt about six weeks ago, worn once and it has now got a hole in the back where the label is ,back of the neck, also blouse i bought couple of months ago, button holes starting to fray.so wont be buying from them again.

Next sale is pretty rubbish, although I find it much simpler to go online and have a browse than rummage through the racks of stuff in store.
Zara has lovely stuff. I have bought 3 lovely shirts in there, great worn with linen trousers, jeans or just leggings. The cardigans come in a fantastic range of colours and are very cheap.
Shoes are beautiful, could spend lots (if I had it) on them.
If you think Zara clothes are on the small side, just try Mango where even being a size 12 I feel a fatty!

Glad to hear you girls say the sizes are a little small
in Zara but I do like there blouses and sweaters.
Next I do not go near at sale time can't be bothered
with the mess and rumaging although trying to be a good girl at the moment to keep bank manager a little happier.

I have been to the Hague for a couple of days and bought loads of stuff half price in the Zara sale.I also discovered Mexx which has some lovely clothes and you are not likely to see everyone else wearing them, like M&S and Next.
