Spilt super glue on work top any ideas?
      #417306 - 06/07/2009 11:27

I've managed to spill at little super glue on my kitchen worktop and have tried the normal kitchen cleaner and white spirit to get it off but it won't shift. Any ideas what else i could try to get it off? You can't see it unless you're up close but i know it's there and it's bugging me!
Thanks
Julie

Hi Jules, I would wait until it is completely hard and then vary carefully pick away at it with a very sharp needle, you may be able to get some purchase on it to lift and peel it off once solid.

You could also contact your local D.I.Y. store and see if they have a solution in stock that will lift it off as well.

Good Luck.

Thanks for that! I have tried to remove some of it with a sharp knife but am worried about damaging the worktop further. I guess it's a trip to the D.I.Y shop then!

Jules, try one of those really sharp scrapers that take gloss paint off glass.

Have you tried nail varnish remover? I remember reading somewhere that it works when people accidently stick their fingers together with super glue.
