stuff you forgot from school
      #416711 - 05/07/2009 11:58

I recently bought a book and its all about what we learnt at school but had forgotten, for example I had forgotten that Walt Whitman (1819-92) was the greatest American poet of the 19th century; his masterwork is Leaves of grass, a collection of short poems.

So what have you forgotten and would need to look up, or do you know everything

I've forgotten how to read logarithm tables as well as the majority of the french I learnt. However I did enjoy school life and developed a love of literature and geography which are still with me years after leaving school. i do remember reading some of Walt Whitman's work while in school..but not the poem you mention.

I've completely forgotten anything I ever knew (which was not a lot) about trigonometry. I was quite a questioning student and kept asking what the point of it was; I remember my maths teacher insisting that it would come in useful in later life, well, I'm nearly 50 now and still waiting...

Whilst I rememeber a lot of French vocabulary, I've forgotten how to conjugate the verbs into the various tenses.

This is a good one BQ, got me thinking...

I seem to have a complete 2 year gap in my memory...it relates to Ancient Greeks and Romans (A Level Ancient History).

There is a fuzzy blur in my mind and I can't remember who was a Greek and who was a Roman. I think there was someone called Ptolomy who was Cleopatra's brother....

I also get confused over Hollywood v. The Truth, Kirk Douglas as Spartacus, Liz Taylor as Cleo, Sid James as Mark Antony

Well I would list the things I've forgotten from school but I have made such a thorough job of forgetting them that I can't remember what they are
I hated school so much that I am still trying to forget that I ever went there 49 years after leaving
However I think I could still conjugate a french verb in the simpler tenses and I think I could also pass GCSE maths

Despite being fairly academic at school, I can honestly say I've forgotten the lot! I can't even do my 12 year old sons Maths homework!

I can't remember anything! I've forgotten it all.

Although I've never forgotten Julie Rogers putting salt in my drinking water when she thought I wasn't looking.
