Hotel Recommendation Required
      #416664 - 05/07/2009 10:25

I am meeting up with 8 friends in the autumn for a night away, lots of chat and a meal. We fancied a country type hotel, roaring log fires and a good resteraunt on site. Preferably the midlands area. Anyone got any gems of places you think fit the bill?

Hi Whitleybay,

The Bushmills Inn is exactly what you are looking for, only one slight difficulty, its not in the midlands, its set up on the Antrim coastline, and its fantastic in Autumn, lovely wild seas to walk along to put you right in the mood for the roaring log fires and award winning food.

Hope you find somewhere just as good a bit more convenient

.

The Lygon arms, Broadway. Beautiful hotel in the Cotswolds, fabulous restaurant too.

Hi Whitley,
The Manor Hotel in Moreton in the Marsh fits,
I haven't been, but Kilworth Hose nr Lutterworth looks good, if you want it local.
But my favourite hotel is The George at Stamford...everything there is perfect and it's a lovely place for a wander too.
Hope that helps.

Hi WhitleyBay - was just thinking about you and wondered if you had been on the forum ... sorry no suggestions apart from would you mind wispering when you use that "autumn" word - not quite ready for it yet !

I had a look at the George website - it looks absolutely fanbulous Kate1 - think I might book a mini break there too.

I'd highly recommend the Rudding Park Hotel just outside Harrogate. It's rather expensive (look for a special deal), but set in beautiful grounds and with the most fabulous service you'll find anywhere. They have special offers which can include an overnight stay plus a meal in their lovely restaurant. Stunning service - you won't be disappointed.
