Hospital parking
      #415732 - 02/07/2009 17:33

Husband has an appointment at Darent Valley Hospital in a couple of weeks. Never been there before as we live the other side of the river. What's the parking like please? Any helpful hints? Appointment is at 10:20a.m

I have no idea where this hospital is but I would say as a rule, get there early - before the main rush. Aim for 9-9.30. If you don't want to hang around that long - get a friend to drop you or a taxi. Hospital parking is notoriously bad.

I'm in ESsex and yesterday my Daughter had to go for a hearing test as she does every so often, the charge for hospital parking was a minimum of £2-50 hr. How on earth do people on a low budget pay this ill never know.

My sister was an inpatient in there 2years ago and I cannot remember how much it was per hour, But you are looking at over a £1 an hour.

Its £1 an hour. Was there today, my father is there at the moment. At 10:20 you shouldnt have a problem parking. If you have a disabled badge, you can use that and get free parking, although the badge holder needs to be in the car. So you wont be able to just borrow one, in fact that's against the law so I wouldnt recommend it anyway.
Hope the appointment goes ok.

Thanks for your replies and the helpful info. I can see a detour into Bluewater coming up after the visit.
