I am going on a short break to Albufeira in Portugal this month and would like to know of any great places to visit, or things to do etc.
It's just me and my mum and no car, but I hear the buses and trains are very good.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

You must go to Portimao and have some sardines on the harbour. They are lovely. Make sure you are not sitting too near the smoke though.
I love Portugal. Tavira is nice.
We also tried a dish of Conquillias. I think that is how you spell it. They are like very small cockles cooked in a delicious sauce

I have been twice o Portugal ( the Algarve) but both time we hired a car and explored lots of little places.
...ah just remebered...i back paked around Portugal in my twenties and I rmeber thre was a rail line running the whole length of the Algarve which was really cheap!

Alvor is a pretty fishing town with lots of nice restaurants, and definitely visit Lagos which has a nice selection of shops, market stalls and you might want to take a boat trip round the harbour
And enjoy the guaranteed sunshine!

Thank you ladies, that's great. I'm just going to get some info online about Lagos and Portimao.
Really looking forward to going and tasting the seafood, and it sounds like you all had a lovely time there.
