      #403103 - 06/06/2009 09:22

Hi my sister is booking the holiday for us ....we still have to pay!! she has picked alcudia in majorca mainly because of cost and flight times. Anybody been and any comments would be appreciated, we have two teenagers going (18+) will it be suitable. They are good kids and not to fussy about clubs but do want to let their hair down

It should be perfect for teenagers. Its a beautiful beach but the resort is very, very busy in high season. We were last there about 5 years ago in early May and it was then perfect for us, not very busy but warm and we could walk along the beach to the next resort and hardly see anyone - a real change from when we were first there about 20 years ago when it was a very small resort.

If I go and look out of the window I can see Alcudia! We were there yesterday and it was not as busy as normal, but still lively.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants and one bar we spotted was open until 3.45am, which should be suitable for most teenagers!

There are at least three separate areas to Alcuidia - the strip (on the main road sometimes called Muro), the Old Town, and the port area. The long beach is beautiful, but it does get a bit crowded. Prices were quite reasonable too, depending on the Euro exchange rate.

It is a bit touristy, but the Old Town is less so. The weather should be lovely in season - today is sunny, but a bit windy (28 degrees on our balcony at the moment)

Anything else just ask!

I was there about 15yrs ago, stayed at the bellevue complex with primary school aged children, plenty for them to do and a cool boat that took you down a river to the beach, lots of activity on the strip that should please your teenagers, we have friends who go back every year.
