Cyprus in April
      #390824 - 14/05/2009 09:58

Has anyone out there been in Cyprus in mid April before? My family and I are planning a holiday there at that time next year for a special birthday - we are looking at Paphos/Coral Bay, going by the brochures it's about 22c in April but it would be nice to hear if it actually feels quite warm, we dont want to go then if it is still a little chilly/cool.

Returned from there last week. Wonder if you made it, whether I passed you on the road! I stay between Paphos and Coral bay the first week in may most years and the weather is generally very good then, although there was a bit of rain this year. I Love Cyprus

Hi
I lived in Northern Cyrpus until a couple of years ago. April can be a very nice month, but cool in the evening and too cool for me to swim, but after living there for a few years 22c felt cool.
I would leave the trip until mid/late May to guarantee good weather.
It has been wetter this year, but the island needed it for the crops and water supply.

I much prefer Northern Cyprus, much quieter with beautiful mountains and wonderful people. I really miss my life there.

Thank you both for the info. Think we might leave it til May next year to be on the safe side.

I went in April last year and had a wonderful time in Paphos, pretty commercialised but lovely all the same. Weather hot and sunny during the day, warm enough for just a cardi in the evening, but the sea was too cold to swim.

We got back from Cyprus last week. I think they have had some bad weather there recently but they badly needed the rain. The day we arrived it was very overcast and we had been told it had been raining on and off all day. But when we got up the following day the sun was out and it stayed out for the whole week with the temperatures rising steadily. Was high twenties by the time we came home.

We really love Cyprus and have now been 10 times. Usually stay in either Coral Bay or Pissouri.

Some friends of mine came back from Cyprus today. Great weather - really warm.
They all loved it.

I have been to Cyprus many times when son in Army. Later in April you would need a little cardigan in the evening only.

You will have a lovely time.
