Cleaned the oven! Is that the WORST job in the kitchen?
      #325446 - 02/02/2009 12:14

Just spent half the morning cleaning the oven!!! It must be the absolute worst job in the kitchen. (Feel like a domestic saint now, though!)

Anyone got anything to suggest that is worse than cleaning the oven?

P.S. sandwiches from now on!!!

I agree, the one job in the kitchen I hate but a good feeling when it is cleaned! Well done! Sounds as though there will be a lot of clean ovens today judging by your weather reports!

Definitely which is why my oven looks so disgusting. Well done. I think you deserve a medal.

I don't clean my oven... before you start thinking I keep a dirty house I'll admit that it's one of the few jobs OH always has to do (only because all oven cleaners I've tried have irritated my asthma).

Can anyone recommend a really good oven cleaner? I've given up with Mr Muscle, I think I'd get better results if I used shampoo!

I hate it too, it's always a bad job because I don't do it very often, there are companies that do it but they are very expensive, I think they use a steamer though, any one know if it's worth buying one?

I hate it too and last year had a company come in and do it. I waited till my husband was away though! Wonderful...there was no chemical smell either. I am going to do the same this year. I didn't use the oven for ages afterwards as it was just like new.

I've just cleaned the outside of my oven - that always takes a long time too (although not as bad as doing the whole lot). It seems to make the whole kitchen look cleaner - might even do the windows next
