any Scrabble addicts?.........
      #310627 - 18/01/2009 11:37

Morning everyone,

we've just bought the new Super scrabble, bigger board,
(2 Z's 2 X's 2 Q's !) there are more triple word scores AND quadruple letter and word squares! can't you tell we are already addicts! we started a game last night but by midnight there were still the normal amount of letters in the bag, looks like two day tournaments from now on. anyone else played this version, or are you all just thinking how sad we are LOL!

Sounds wonderful to me! Never played (or seen) that version and can understand how it could go on some time; especially with me - as I'm really only any good at making 5 letter words!

ROFL ladies! looks like we are the only saddo's
I taught my OH mjm and beat him for a long time, unfortunately he's got good and it tends to be neck and neck now, he takes it very seriously, whereas I'm not remotely competitive, makes for some 'interesting' evenings

I'll say 'not yet' because OH has just ordered the new version on DS for us (we have 3 DS which can link up when in same room). It has not arrived yet but I know once we start playing we will become addicted.

Haven't heard of that one. I use to play it on the computer but some of the words the computer came up with were beyond belief. Didn't know it was on facebook, think I had better check it out.

So who is the best at it ..... you or OH?

I love playing Scrabble even though I am not very good but unfortunately OH won't play that often. It is the only board game he will play as he hates most of them but we clashed one Christmas playing with the children and he is a bad loser!

I know how you feel Lisanthus. It's just a shame we can't set up our own online Scrabble game.

Sadly am far away in Wales and haven't qualified for my witch's broom yet or I would fly over and give you a game.

Wow!! Sounds fiendish Sunbeam!!! Yes....I am an addict of the old game...play with some WI friends once a month and play with OH now and then. We are about equal really....even though he says I always win! Must look for the Super version. I can see it would take longer though.!

Bring it with you on 6th? LOL

Hi Beau, I've never tried Backgammon it does look very hard
Glad someone else loves Scrabble too, we've got a travel one we've left at our timeshare, a travel one we take on other holidays, a normal set and now this Super one, I've bought the individual scorers too that saves one of you having to score. The Super Scrabble is very good there are many more word scores and letter scores than we are used to and you can't avoid easily opening them up to your opponent, that works both ways obviously and it means your scores are 500/600!

Backgammon isn't hard once you know what the aim is! I really like the sound of the Super Scrabble. Think I'll have a look for it.
