MOVING MORE 1 preparation
      #304630 - 11/01/2009 21:42

You wouldn't go on a 90 day holiday without any preparation would you.So I thought my first post on MM would be all about that...getting ready!

Think about what you want to have happened after 90 days.I am posting my thoughts and goals in ajournal too so if you do not want to contribute to these posts you could maybe do the same.

After 90 days I want to;

Feel stronger and more alive
Have found interesting ways to move more every day.
To lower heart rate and cholesterol
To be more positive about activity and life in general
To sleep better.

SICK THESE TO THE FRIDGE!

Once you have your goals take afew moments to visualise yourself in 90 days time.

How do you feel?
What are you saying?
How are your energy levels?
What are people saying about you?
Is your health condition better?

You can post you thoughts / goals on here but if you don't want to, just keep referring to the thread and put your thoughts into a diary or notebook.

Hi Blossom,
I'm working hard to get my brain in gear and my motivational list going. That sounds like exercise already.
Whitley Bay I hope you realise that you will be given a stricter regime for every mickey take you post.We have ways to make you move more.Be afraid, be very afraid!!

OK, here,s my wish list,
I want to
take pleasure in having a daily walk
have more flexibility
enjoy a variety of exercise
lower my blood pressure
Sleep soundly
have a more relaxed attitude to life.

In 90 days time I hope,
I will look slimmer,
My muscles will be stronger and firmer,
My blood pressure will be normal,
My posture will have improved,
My back will ache less.
I'll feel more confident and relaxed.

Did I pass?
Here's to a great 90 days everyone.Let us have some fun as we get fit together. We can do it.
Thanks for getting us started Blossom, super start to the year.
Decxx

I know splash.Thats why I am only suggesting we make small changes to our activity levels week by week..i supppose you have to start some where! It has been shown that by having a goal and visualising it, it helps you to stick to it..and apparantly it takes about 90 days for a new habit to become a way of life !maybe a load of psycho babble, i know but with three stone to lose I will try ANYTHING!(Ididn't put weight loss as a goal purposely as i hope that will naturally follow anyway)

'Have found interesting ways to move more every day' - Blossom.

I'll post our copy of the Kama Sutra to you,Bloss, recommend pages 38 -9, 86 and 92. Good luck with page 57, Mr Chilla was in traction for ages, but he was in the right place for page 12.

OK my goals are:

Hit my target of 15,000 steps every day.
Work on strengthening my core muscles
Cut down the alcohol intake
Take up cycling again.

At the end of my 3 months, hopefully I will have adopted a more consistent pattern of exercise, my blood pressure will have dropped and if I lose weight, maybe my back will hurt less!

i fthis helps, i do find that I enjoy the walks around the route i do at work more, because there arethat many people see and ahve a quick word siwth,e ven if it's just hello, that it's a sociable experience. The key on that one is to things at th same time every day, if that is any help to those who aren't enjoying their walks. And never be afraid to say hello to people, brightens their day usually.

MJM asked in a pm how I thought this thread could run.I think we will just see how it goes eh?We could post our goals for the day, type about what we have done or even post inspriational quotes etc about activity...chilla could even quote her Karma Sutra!!!..or change her avatar to somethimg from there!!LOL

My goals for today;
Housework; hoover, dust and mop floors
go for walk with oh (short and gentle for now!)
do pilates dvd for 20 minutes.

How come you've got a leopard print ponytail ,mjm? And do you take that off as well? Are you in fact bald? Not that you wouldn't be beautiful however hirsute or printed you are or aren't

Bloss, since you asked, here with the first set of instructions for you and Mr Bloss.

Stand feet slightly apart, bend to a 90 degree angle forward and put your left hand in front of your right foot. no w put you right hand behind your right foot and stretch your left foot about 6 inches to the left..... hang on..... sorry, instructions for Twister, I'll come back when I've got the real thing.

Admit, it, you had called Mr bloss over to read the instructions as you attempted the contortion....

PS Bloss, the video, it wasn't filmed in 78 was it? Times were very difficult then and I needed the money, OK.

Chilla, our posts must have crossed ..I didn't see your cheeky instructions!!!

Now that brings me nicely onto another way of moving more..children's games.

Remember those carefree days of childhood , when all you did was skip, jump run and generally move around?!!Well lets try and get back to that ..... if only for ten minutes a day.THINK LIKE A CHILD!

Get your kids hula hoop out, borrow their trampoline when they are at school (you will wish you had done your pelvic floor exercises, believe me!!),and yes..get out the twister after sunday lunch when your gran just needs to get rid of excess wind!!!

I have just been to the local leisure centre (ahem..not SPORTS centre ...the word brings me out in palpatations!)..and picked up leaflets about their activities....they do all sorts of stuff from gentle exercise, yoga, tai chi. kick boxing (might come in handy if Mr Bloss keeps on laughing at me being on here!).

I thought if I collected stuff from a few places in the local area i could "pic and mix" the activity I want to do....oh Chilla..they also do belly dancing in our local village hall.!!

Well, I've got the belly, and it's wobbling away after laughing at these posts. I once won a belly dancing competition on a Nile cruise! Mr Vee said it was because I had the biggest belly. When he'd recovered consciousness, I told him that, as he very well knew, size isn't everything.

I thought we were starting today, so I've already moved more. As well as doing a Wii Fit session, I put on my Mika CD and danced around the dining room to "Lollipop" and the empowering "Big Girls You Are Beautiful". That's more than 7 minutes extra exercise. Stop laughing - it's a start.

Moving more? Not so far today.
Back at work and I have checked my BB(bra buddy) only a fifth of my steps when I was on hols. The trouble is I no more feel like moving, other than lifting the wine glass, than flying. So seriously, I need to get my act together.
I am giving myself a target of walking up and down the stairs a few times before bed.
Every little helps.
