Good morning everyone!
Hope you are all feeling well and are free from the dreaded 'lurgies' which seem to be sweeping the country!
Today why not focus on the positive changes that being a FF has brought to your life?
* Are you feeling more positive? * Does the FF thread help you stay on track? * Are you sleeping better? * Have you more energy? * Are you eating more healthily? * Do your clothes fit better? * Do you have more choice of what you can wear from your wardrobe?
For me, the support from the FF thread is the most encouraging thing. I just find everyone's posts reflecting all our different ideas and views very helpful. Looking forward to reading your posts! Enjoy your day. Foxie

Wow Foxie...you are up early!!
I have only relly been following FF thread for week, but all of the above apply to me...apart from clothes fitting better....not lost enough weight yet!
Dec and I are going to start a thread about "Moving More" along the same lines as FF...do you mind if we copy your idea of someone posting each day on one thread? The two threads, losing weight with PMK principles andMoving More could go hand in hand. What do all you Flabuless Forummers think?

Hi Foxie, Blossom and SL.
Foxie - you're right, we should focus on the positive changes being a FF has brought to our lives. In reply to the points you listed:
* I am feeling much more positive than I used to and looking forward to losing weight and becoming more healthy this year. * The FF thread really does help me a lot - it's the first thing I look at when I log on and I find the comments from everyone really helpful. Not only that, but I feel as though I am part of a lovely, supportive group of ladies, which is really nice! * Apart from Christmas and New Year, I am certainly eating more healthily.
I'm looking forward to having more energy and sleeping better. Unfortunately, my clothes have yet to fit better as I went off the rails before Christmas, so have a bit of catching up to do there!
Hope you all have a good day.

Good Morning,Foxie,SL and Blossom,
Yes Foxie I have started 2009 in a much more positive frame of mind and it is mainly thanks to PMk and the support of FF ladies. I check out the posts every day. They help remind me of what I'm aiming for and everyone's achievements are an incentive to keep going. My initial target weight now seems achievable and I now think it is possible to get below that and really get back to the weight I should be.I'd given up all hope of that before joining the FF's.So a big thank you everyone and especially to mjm for starting the whole thing off. My clothes don't fit better. Most of them are getting to be a bit baggy. How sad,I may need to go shopping for some new ones! I've finally given up my gym membership.I loved the place when I got there but the hassle of going meant I hardly ever went. Now I've got out my pedometer and bought fitness DVDs from Ebay and I've become a real little mover this week.I hope to support Blossom in her quest to make us all much fitter this year.Yesterday, after a very slow start,I still managed 10,200 steps. I'm still not sleeping too well but hope that will improve.I just can't seem to switch my brain off.I suppose that proves I have one. So once again a big,big thank you from me to each and everyone of you, you are all stars to me. Decxx

Spanish lady...wht type of yoga do you do?I used to go to yoga years ago and loved it, but I cant remember the name of the particular form.
I have an old pilates DVD that I intend using as often as I can, again I used to go to pilates classes but had to give it up.Yoga and pilates, although quite strenuous, I see as very relaxing forms of exercise.Even some gentle stretching first thing in the morning as you are waiting for the bath to run or kettle to boil can improve flexilbility and strength.

I will look round for a dvd or maybe treat myself to the wii fit (we already have the machine). You may have read my post on me cancelling my gym membership.I can't begin to describe the releif I feel!!I used to have palpatations everytime I went near the place...and that was if I was just passing it on the way somewhere else.I have picked up lots of leaflets about classes in our local church hall etc...which I can dip in and out of as the mood takes me.
Sorry feel I have hyjacked this post.it is supposed to be about PMK and FF and I am talking exercise!
I am really having loads of succes with the PMK method, and I dont just mean weight loss.I feel so much better and my relationship with food is really changing....I can eat what I fancy, not what I feel I ought to!!What agreat time I had food shopping today. It is all food I love BUT healthy stuff.I had to laugh as I LOVE advocadoes (could eat them all day ) but as they are a high fat (good fat) food I voided them in the past..I bought five today...yum yum.
Instead of half fat boring cheese I bought Gruyere...you only need to eat abit at a time cos it is quite strong...again...yum yum!!
...oh I have rambled on a bit haven't I?

Northern grit on my side. Doing my physio when I can. At present my step count is to the loo and back.Got to to be capable of going to MIL's funeral on friday. Playing the glad game getting a lot of book club reading done. Ginnie

Hi Ginnie Welcome to the FF, really glad you decided to join us and looking forward to reading your posts.
Thimble - good idea to set small goals, these are achievable. Stick with it and you'll get there!
SL - I love doing yoga too, the stretches are wonderful and I think they make you more aware of your posture too.
Blossom, Alex and dec - it's good that we are all moving more. Blossom, I think any thread that helps us all is a good thing. Will you be posting on the Health and Wellbeing thread too?
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone Foxie x.

Good afternoon girls,
Foxie another great thread, thank you for starting us off, and sooo early too!
I am much more positive since Ive started with FF and PMK, it doesnt matter what else is going on the other forums, we still manage to remain a great team, and really supportive to one another.
A great idea about a "Moving More" thread bloss and dec, I will join in with those, as my new pedo arrived today, yippee, that didnt take long did it?!
I have managed to get back on track with food at work again now, all those chocs at Christmas were a challange.
Im really pleased bloss that your finding your relationship with food is improving, thats one of the major benefits with the PMK system.

Afternoon everyone, I am more positive and I love listening to you all. My clothes are still the same I need to loose more to get that benefit. I am sleeping more and I do feel a lot more healthy my blood pressure is down, and so is my colestrol. I recorded PMK's programme and OH and I watched it together. He was so impressed that we are working together on this as he want's to loose weight as well, so by the summer we could both be looking chique fingers crossed.
mjm I want to flounce like you at a barbie xx Enjoy the rest of the day ladies.

Thimble..your answers made me laugh! But you know I have been sticking to the PMK rules for a week (not used the cd at all as I lost mine) and I can honestly answer yes to all but the last two.It is great to see you saying you will answer yes to them all in three months (only 90 days)...that is the first thing in envisioning a "new"you..set some goals. It only takes a couple of months for old habits to be replaced by new ones.
Foxie..yes I am going to post the Moving More posts on health and wellbeing as it is the most appropriate place, BUT I don't want them to get mixed up with the FF and PMK posts.I really want to put the day on the title too, so I thought I could put the day AFTER the title "MOVING MORE", so people wont get confused (phew..think I have just confused myself!!LOL)
eg MOVING MORE DAY 1, MOVING MORE DAY 2 ,etc.
As with the PMK posts, please feel free to be the first to post, if you so wish, as I will probably run out of ideas of what to post after a few days.

Foxie, thank you once again for an inspiring post. It's good to focus on our goals and achievements.
I'm actually feeling a bit negative at the moment. It might be the weather, or the flat feeling after the festivities of the last few weeks, but I've stopped "listening" over the last few days. Might be my hormones going haywire too.
However, the FF threads do help me keep on track, and I look forward to reading them each day, especially when they are inspiring.
I'm not sleeping well, or having more energy, but that might be because I'm not eating more healthily.
However, many of my clothes do fit better, and the ones that don't fit well are too loose! This does mean though that I have fewer wardrobe choices, and I need to have a declutter (groan).
Blossom, I think your MOVING MORE DAY 1 idea is a great one. Like SL I'm using the Wii Fit to do yoga, and stepping and various other things. Yesterday I had the body of a 35 year old according to my body test. Unfortumately I'll have to give it back today as I've been making it all wrinkly!
SL, have you been doing the body test, where it works out your Wii Fit age? I've varied from 35 to 65.
mjm, I'm a bit off track at the moment like you've just been. What's the secret of getting back on? Maybe I need some sunshine.
Linby, It's great that your OH is supporting you - go for it!
Thimble, you should do those yes, yes, yeses in a Meg Ryan kind of way, then we'll all have what you're having!!
Ginnie, welcome, and I hope things start to look up for you soon.
Alex, glad you are posting again, and sounding so positive. Can you send some of that my way?
dec, I take ages to type too, so I hope I haven't missed anyone.
Have a great evening, Sella.

Hi everyone
For me the best part of being a Flabuless Forumer is definitely the support and friendship I've found here - this thread is great and like AlexP, I read it before anything else.
Looking for a silver lining, the good thing about the past week is that I reckon I've lost not only the weight I put on over Christmas (which was less than I expected)- but maybe even a little more. My jeans feel loose and when I looked at myself full frontal in the mirror this morning I thought I looked trimmer - sideways was another matter!
I do feel more in control around food. Even if I have the occasional treat, I don't have as much as I would have done previously. I'm more conscious of exercise too. I will be doing more soon as I'm fit, but I thought you might be interested in this short article from today's paper
Quote:
Food for thought
Exercise as much as you can to keep healthy, but if you want to lose weight look at what you eat instead.
The case that diet is more influential than exercise in weight loss has been demonstrated by Loyola University researchers, who compared African-American women in Chicago to women in Nigeria. The Nigerian women were significantly lighter but an analysis found that physical activity in both groups was almost exactly the same. What differed was their diets - 40 per cent fat in Chicago, but mainly roughage and carbs in Nigeria.
“Decreased physical activity may not be the primary driver of the obesity epidemic,” the study says.
It really does seem that the key is getting away from a high fat diet.....

Not the tin Sella_Vee! What about the dog? Then you won't be able to revisit it. I just want to say thanks, I often don't get on this thread until the evening, but those of you who find a way to post in the morning and through the day mean that there is always good advice and lots of motivation for me to catch up with, and I can't remember a time when I have felt so relaxed about losing weight. I think about food now mostly when I am eating it, rather than 24/7
