Hello Ladies
Well I am usually complimenting other people lol but was absolutely delighted today to be complimented by a stranger (a nurse in the doctors) who said that she absolutely adored my red hair colour, that it suited me so well and looked divine !
Well needless to say I kind of walked tall back out of the surgery and has left a lovely smile on my face even now !
How about you ?

Now i had you down as a blonde - funny how you build up a picture of someone.
The last compliment I had was last November when I was at a hafla where about half the audience were Egyptian/Algerian. I wasn't performing, just dancing to the ban and an Egyptian lady came over and said her table had been wondering where I was from because i danced so well. I was desperate to say Lebanon or Tunisia, but had to confess Manchester, which is not what she was thinking Made me very happy, but every time I got up after that i felt really self-conscious.

Hi Lillie I too had you down as a blonde, how wrong chilla and I were.
Last " compliment?" I received was this morning - said with a smile " you are one crazy lady". Being crazy at 61 - is not so bad lol.

Well I was a 'natural' blonde when I was a young girl, but then it kind of went mousy brown in my teens, so coloured it from then on, ranging from blonde highlights, dark brown and now red lol

How lovely Lillie, glad you felt really good.
A certain forum member payed me a compliment the other day, I shan't say what she said becos I think she was lying, but I know she doesn't dish compliments out very often and bit like me, so I guess I should be rather chuffed.
All I shall say it wasn't that Maingey Trout!

I went to a works Xmas meal having only been with the Company about 4 weeks. I walked into the restaurant and didn't see anyone I knew. I vaguely recognised 2 chaps from the induction course at the bar so wandered up bought a drink and started chatting - as you do. It suddenly dawned on me they had no idea who I was so I said - you don't remember me do you? One said he thought he'd pulled really early on and then he said he did remember that I played saxophone. To cut a long story short his compliment was - 'Don't mindme saying but you don't half scrub up well!" I took it as a compliment anyway as I'll be 50 in April and he's about 35! My husband had a good augh when I told him

Lillie,
Certainly not today.
Not long ago you might remember I told you about my friend across the road calling me "Big and Bonny" didnt know whether to laugh or cry, she meant well.
Blow me down, have been to the hairdressers today, and an old lady who was sat next to me whilst getting our hair washed, we got to talking as you do, about fashion etc, when she suddenly looked at me and said, "I used to be Big and Bonny like you", didnt know whether to grab the water thingy and drown her, or pretend I didnt hear.
I think Im beginning to get a complex thats two people ha ha.

I've checked with Snotty and it was me. More to the point, it was genuine! I won't be making a habit of it!

This week, I've had a few people say they like my hair - and yesterday, my Headteacher said how nice I looked and he liked my new Laura Ashley waistcoat....today though, he didn't like my hair spikey! I told him he needs to keep up with the fashion trends....but, jokes aside, it is nice to receive compliments.

I had a 'sort of' compliment on Wednesday night at a Rotary meeting. A male friend said - 'You smell gorgeous, what perfume are you wearing' (interestingly I was wearing Chanel No 5 and in my experience it is the one perfume which men always comment on...). I was chuffed to bits and told him, at which point he said - 'oh that's what my 86 year old mum wears, I thought you smelt familiar!' x

Folk have been telling me they like my 'new' specs, shame I have had them for about 3 or 4 years! I too thought you were a blonde Lillie.

How lovely Lilly, that would have made my day too. i like all the other comments too.
The nearest I've got to a compliment is when I showed my eldest daughter my holiday photo taken while on a p&O cruise. I was wearing a long black dress, (unusual for me) my daughter suddenly said "have they air brushed you, your skin looks good you haven't got any wrinkles" I laughed, I think that was a compliment, I'm 44 so shouldn't have to many anyway! A lady who I admire here said to me the other day that she thought i was her British Alter-ego. Quite chuffed as she is someone I find warm, witty and straight talking. I assume she meant it as a compliment!?
