Can anyone tell me if they have used acetyl L carnitine to aid weight loss and does it work? I am taking HRT and not sure if I can take this with HRT or not. Any help/advice appreciated.

Welcome peanut. My daughter is prescribed L carnitine (Carnitor) for a medical condition - nothing to do with weight loss though. There is a link to fatty acid metabolism but I have no idea whether L carnitine would aid weight loss or be contra-indicated for anyone using HRT.
Are you talking about something that you can buy, over the counter or on the net, without prescription? If so, the solution might be totally different to the one we are familiar with.
You certainly need to be careful if you suffer from diabetes or kidney problems. Sorry, can't be more helpful, hopefully somebody else can.

Hi
I don't know anything about it but it would be worth asking your local pharmacist who would be able to advise you and also tell if there would be any interaction with the HRT you are taking, let us know if it works
