Ladies, help needed!
      #299319 - 06/01/2009 23:04

As some of you know, I volunteer at a small children's hospice and I often have to put together goodie bags for the guests to take away after one of our events.

Would any of you nice ladies know where I might be able to get samples or other freebies that might be suitable? We can use anything really but we generally do goodie bags for the ladies (eg at a Ball) which might include chocolate or samples of cosmetics or skincare. Sometimes we have events for the children's families so babycare stuff is also good and not forgetting the brothers and sisters of the sick children, as they have their own club events to stop them feeling so overlooked and it's nice to be able to give them treats as well.

The Hospice would of course write to any companies that you might be able to suggest formally, I won't mention any names (unless you want me to!)and we can put promotional literature in the bags as well.

I apologise for asking you all but times are hard for small charities out there and we have already had redundancies, but only on the admin side as yet. It is a national scandal that there is no regular government funding for this sort of service but that's another whole can of worms!

If anyone would like to pm me I can tell you more.

Hi Waveney,
Lots of gold stars for you for the work you are doing! Wonderful! re Samples. At WI we get sent lots of samples from 'Dove' skincare products. They might be worth asking. Also.....but psobably not so useful.....we get samples from Yorkshire Tea......tea bags and such and vouchers for their cakes and biscuits. They claim to be very philanthropic so you could try them
Best of Luck! Have you tried Boots? Just a thought.

Thanks all for the nice pm's.

The forum seems to be playing up today and I'm off out shortly so I will try and reply to you all when I get back (if it's working this time!)
