Olay Definity
      #298134 - 06/01/2009 08:58

Every time I see this advert I wonder about the claim at the end which says

In a recent Woman and Home survey, 3 out of 4 readers who tried Olay Definity said they would recommend it

Who are these readers? Where do they conduct these surveys? Anyone here been invited to take part?

A few years ago, Vogue asked me to test some moisturiser, it was Olay - forget which one, but it was just when they changed their name from Ulay. brought my skin out in spots. Bottom line is that it all depends on your skin type and you have to play around until you find one you like.

I once did some Beauty Bible testing, but had to pay a contribution towards the products I tested - much less than the product value though.

I had about 12 products, some fairly expensive which I probably wouldnt have splashed out on.

I think they asked 4 people, Glitter, and 3 liked the product.

I tested it and said it was rubbish and I wouldn`t use it again.I couldn`t even get to the bottom of the pot as it was so thick and gooey and refused to come out.

Like Christina mentions above, I was also a 'volunteer' for Olay Definity last autumn. The product I was sent was the eye contour cream, I have been using it daily since then and there is still loads left!

They sent me a survey to complete about a month after I started the trial, but at that stage I hadn't noticed any difference and said so, adding that I thought it was probably too soon to expect any difference, bearing in mind my (ahem!) age. I never heard anything more, but assume I am one of the women who 'didn't' recommend it.

However if they asked me again now, I would say yes, I think it has improved my dark circles...

By my reckoning then 2 out of 3 didn't recommend it!
