Morning Gilley I have gained 31b also, but today is another year and another two weeks. I have just cleared out all the fridge of rubbish and the cupboard of surplus naughty food (some packets of buns and buiscuits have not been opened but they have gone) I am going to also measure myself correctly.I have ripped out at the back of my old catalougue the measuring page so I am going to follow the rules. I am also going to find my keep fit dvd's and chose my favourite one to use along with my slimming and walks with the dog. I might even join the website with GMTV.A good start for me this year and I will also come on this thread everyday to have support and give support to all you lovely ladies. Remember this is not a sprint it's a marathon we do not have to beat ourselves up each time we have a hicup. have a good day ladies. By the way I am just drinking my hot lemon and water, xx

Oops, gilley, I have posted at the same time as you, and along the same lines (I've put on 3lb too) so we will be doubly motivated today!
Linby I've watched Mr Motivator, and I've had my hot lemon and water! I'm just off to clear out my cupboards and fridge.

Hi Linby and Sv
We need all the motivation we can get on this cold morning so doubling up is probably a good thing today.
I am glad you mentioned measuring, I had completely forgotton to do that - will go and do it now.

Hi Gilley, Linby and Sella, 3lbs seems to be the thing - I've also put on 3lbs!! A bit disappointing, but not really unexpected. I am feeling quite motivated, though - began the day with muesli, then a walk to work. I'm going to try and have herbal tea today rather than too many coffees - I love herbal tea, but love coffee as well and got into the habit of drinking lots of coffee over the Christmas and New Year period. I remembered to measure myself yesterday as well - only had a tape measure in centimetres, which made my measurements look much worse!! Hope you all have a good day. x

Hi Gilley ,I've just posted on Sella's post then I noticed yours. My good news is I've stayed the same weight. One of the things I've done over the week end is get my pedometer out of the drawer and start using it again. It shocks me to realise how few steps I take in a normal day.Wearing it helps to motivate me to move more and to keep trying to add extra steps to my daily total.I really would recommend it.Excuse me now because I really must jog around a bit.I need to get in shape for Alex's party.(see Sella's post for your invite) Decx

I have put on about 6 pounds over christmas (well my birthday is in december too!!)
I have been following the golden rules and am finding it ok...not hungry anyway....until just now when I made a home made pizza for my daughter ...and just had to have a slice (in the past I would have had half of it with her!)I did eat it slowly and savoured every mouthful.!!
We usually eat altogether at the table each evening, but D has guides tonight, so I feed her early and then OH and just have something light later on.We usually go for a walk/jog whilst she is at guides.

Hi everyone, guess what I put on? Yes, three pounds! But as someone said on the other thread I am not in a state about it, just going back to eating by pmk, it seems so simple and feels great. Just want to thank you all again for your encouragement and support since October. I think the daily contact makes a huge difference

Hi everyone! Girls I haven't been on the forum for so long and I have really missed you all. I have been so busy, especially workwise, and haven't had much chance to get posting. But, it's a new year and I intend it to be fabulous! I am going to drink a lot more water AND get more exercise!
I was really scared of getting on the scales this morning, but believe it or not, I've stayed the same! Must be all the stress. I have tried to keep to the rules, but fell be the wayside a few times. I suppose the bonus of being at work for most of the festive season was limited eating opportunities!
Don't despair if you've put weight on - getting back to normal and following pmk's rules will make all the difference!
I hope that 2009 will be fantastic for everyone!

dec I bought myself a pedometer just before xmas and have been wearing it every day..........It does not make for good news and has shown me just how little I move about. Today was the highest I had managed and I ashamed to say it got to only 5000!!! Most days it just about gets to 3500. This means I have to use about 6500-5000 steps MORE EVERY DAY!!!! Geez...........this dog is going to have such short legs............
Me.....I stayed the same weight and did not put on any.!!!

Thimble,I think if I was counting on a normal pre pedomator day I'd be lucky to make it to 3000 steps but today I made over 10000!
I'm really proud of myself but I went on 2 walks and have been up and down the stairs and running round the house like a maniac to reach that total. And to think that I should be doing that every day seems hard going but I'm going to give it a go.Without the pedometer I could kid myself that I'm active.I think they are great for making you face reality and encouraging you to get moving.Hope your dog's not a daschund!
