Good morning everyone!
I hope today is a good one. It was really cold last night and is still pitch black outside. Today is my last day at home before going back to work tomorrow, so I thought I would start the day with the FF post.
Today the message is a reminder for us all to keep drinking.
* Try starting the day with hot water with a squeeze of lemon in it.
* Has anyone else tried instant Miso soup? I often drink it at work at lunchtime. It has no additives and is low calorie too. It's usually found in the Japanese food section of supermarkets.
* While the weather is colder, several of us have followed Bibi's advice and drink mugs of hot water rather than glasses of cold water.
* Rediscover herb and fruit teas. Use a cup of peppermint tea as a 'full stop' at the end of a meal.
Enjoy your day. Foxie

Good morning Foxie, you must have read my mind because this morning I have already decided to start the day with hot water and lemon.I'm also going to have a glass of water before each meal,if I remember that is! Somewhere recently I either read or saw on TV that our brains are mainly composed of water and thus are really affected by dehydration so I'm aiming to boost my brain power with my new resolution.Forgetting everything probably means that it's well overdue. Enjoy your day everyone. Decx

Hi Foxie and Dec
You are quite right about the drinking and dehydration - I find sometimes when I am tired and sluggish having a glass of water is quite rejuvinating, unfortunatly its always an effort to turn to water instead of hot chocolate or wine when feeling out of sorts.
I always intend to have lemon and hot water in the mornings but never remember to buy the lemons or can't be bothered to squeeze the things, so for the last couple of months I have been having Twinings "Morning Detox" tea - which I can totally recomend.
Enjoy today everyone and good luck with tomorrows weigh-in (scary)

Hi Foxie and dec - a good reminder - I know I often don't drink enough water. I like herbal teas and enjoy warm water, so thre's no reason not to drink them. Twinings do a lovely end of meal herbal tea called Digestif - a mixture of peppermint and aniseed that's really refreshing.
I'm off to get a cup of hot water straight away!

Hi Gilley, didn't mean to ignore you - we posted at the same time!
I'm determined not to worry about the weigh in - we've enjoyed Christmas, had some treats, gained a bit of weight - that's the point of a feast. Now we have to set to and get back on track and be healthy!!

Here was I thinking that I could say "I had to have the wine because we have been advised by a forum lady that is good to keep drinking.........."! Oh well....
Actually I always have hot water with my breakfast and my lunch. My mum swears by it for ... um....keeping the digestion working!!!
I only have about 3/4 cups tea a day if that....the rest of the time it is either hot water, chamomile tea or a "sleepytime" herb drink at bedtime.
Must drink more water though.......one of my resolutions as well.

Afternoon everyone I agree with everyone especially about the weigh in, yes we have enjoyed the feast.Monday is the start of the New Year for me, work and weigh.I love water and drink a lot, but I have not had warm water for a long time, so this is going to add to my job to do list in the future. I tend to have a glass of water if I think i am hungry this sometimes takes the edge off. Enjoy your Sunday ladies. xx

Keep calm, SL, keep calm. Think of your blood pressure .
Foxie, when I saw the title I went off and made myself some mulled wine. I'm enjoying it now, hic!
I often have hot water and lemon first thing and OH has now caught on and has been bringing me some in the mornings. When I have it I put a wedge of fresh lemon in the bottom of the mug and top up with hot water. OH uses Jif lemon, so you could try keeping a bottle of that in the fridge, gilley.
When I get home from work I often think I'm hungry when actually I'm thirsty so I have a cup of tea and usually that's all I need.
Let's not worry about the weigh in tomorrow. I'm going to treat it as a new start. I've sent MS and DIL home with a load of goodies so that temptation is removed, and I'm going to freeze some cake for OH to eat later.

Evening all,
I am definetely going to drink more water and hot water with or without lemon sounds a good idea i will give that a go at work this week, i'll let you know how i get on. Not terrible kean on herbal teas, which is a pity.
I am also going to have more soups this week.
Good luck everyone for the weigh in tomorrow.

Spanishlady, wow, its good to know that you are so cool, calm and collected in these adverse conditions (LOL).
I shall keep the jiff lemon in mind but it doesn't sound so healthy and incouraging as fresh.
Mind you with tomorrow being a fresh start in mind, I am currantly using up the Baileys (yes I know its early but needs must). It was a present from someone and as I live on my own I feel duty bound to empty the bottle even though I don't particularly like it - I must say adding an extra slug of whiskey does make it rather moorish, cuts the heaviness of the cream...
OOhhh, confession over
