How come there are no walking clubs listed in Scotland? Can't believe it because we're lazier than our English counterparts or is it just that everyone's already in a group?
I'd still like to get together with anyone who wants to walk at weekends or in the evening (come Spring) in and around Edinburgh. If you're interested please post or send me a message. I'm a leisure walker by the way not a fitness freak.
Thanks

Funny you should say that Pat, I was looking at the map and thinking the same thing.
Unfortunately I'm a bit too far away from Edinburgh or we could have perhaps organised something ourselves.
Is there anyone in the Ayrshire area who would be interested in starting/joining a walking club? Come on..... New Year New Start!!

Anna - where are you in Ayrshire? Would it really be too far to meet somewhere mid way. I'm getting desperate.

Hello
I am new to this site and as everyone is saying its a New Year and have decided that 2009 is the year I am going to be more active.
Scotland is a beautiful place and we should get out into the open and enjoy it!!
I would be interested in meeting up anywhere near Edinburgh or Ayrshire to go for a walk and meet people. I am in Glasgow but am willing to travel for the sake of getting fit.

How about someone looking at a map to find a midpoint then trying to arrange a Saturday or Sunday walk followed by lunch. I don't mind travelling to Glasgow but would prefer the Edinburgh side of the city but don't know where you two are. I lived in The Merchant City for years so know Glasgow well but don't have a map. Feeble excuse I know

I am south of Edinburgh and would be interested but I am not too keen to travel for hours to walk! I think the idea of a walk on a sat or sun followed by lunch sounds great.... Jane

so.......hows about the idea of a walk on a Sat or Sun somewhere fairly central for most of us followed by a bote to eat(need an incentive to get us out and about!) Anyone got any suggestions to start us off...
We can't have the English ladies showing us Scots up!!
