best diets
      #292213 - 31/12/2008 10:14

Hi all, Can anybody tell me which is the easiest and best diet to follow? I have never actually followed a diet plan because I worry I wont stick to it, but with so many around now all offering different things I am very confused!!! But would really like to give 1 ago weight creeping on so not happy! Thinking of weight watchers, but not sure if to do it on line or go to a meeting. Got to be easy to follow and still have the odd treat. Help!!

Hi, I'm a life long member of every diet club around and still trying!! For the last 8 months I've been attending Slimming World and lost 1 stone 9 lbs. Its been quite slow at times but it's a diet that can be managed with the whole family. They have an excellent web site where you can monitor your weight lose and you'll also find loads of recepies. I've one daughter getting married in March and another next May so I've got to keep going.
Good luck and hope it works for you. Keep in touch. xx

Lots of fruit and veg ....easy on the carbs and dairy... a treat a day and thats what most of them boil down to. WW is good...... I did it many years ago but for me it was having to be weighed... very sensitively... every week that kept me on track....give a meeting a try they are very friendly places in my experience. Have kept the weight i lost off for 12 years now ....so it did some good!!
Good Luck!

I'm going to use a smaller plate for all my meals. I cannot give up the things I like so I will just eat less of them.
One potato instead of five, that sort of thing.

You can even buy a diet plate now!

Good luck whatever diet you choose! I'll be alongside you!

Eat less, move more.

Edited to add: I'm sorry I was a bit flippant but I get so cross when I see the amount of money 'they' make from people looking for a quick fix diet.

Dieting is short term and generally follows the principle of cutting out BAD and eating lots of GOOD. That's all very well but the voices in our head want the BAD stuff because they feel deprived. Then they end up stuffing in more of the BAD stuff than they would normally and then quitting a diet vowing to do it again another day.

There is no GOOD or BAD food, just eat a bit less of everything and move a bit more.

Rant over, I get SO cross about diets

I lost two stone on wieght watchers a couple of years ago.I started back last new year and lost about half a stone which I have now put back on ..plus more!!

Why not try the Paul McKenna system which someof the forummers on here use...look under Flabuless Forummers on the health and well being section.

Good Luck!!

Hi there
I'm new to the forum but thought I'd share a couple of ideas with you-
I've recently lost half a stone and dropped a dress size for New Year!
I found that keeping a food diary helped because we're never honest with ourselves when we think about how much we've consumed in a day!
Also I've got into the habit of going to the gym on a regular basis- swimming and salsa classes work for me!
Cheers
Annie

Hi, Im new too and have just signed up to the free 5 day trial of the Woman and Home diet.

I still have some bits and pieces to eat up so I wont do the diet too seriously til Monday when Ill join properly and then sign up month by month.

Ive done weightwatchers and lost a couple of stone but I never get to goal! Something comes up and knocks me off track. I was 7lbs away from goal once and now Im back to about 3 stone to lose....again!

Also did Cambridge for a few months, its good and gets instant results but I really missed real food at every meal and inbetween so came off that before Xmas!

So, this is it this time (how many times have I said that?!) especially as Im now 36 and it definately gets harder as you get older!

Good luck everyone!

Helen.
