Day 274: Today I just can't seem to fill myself up?
      #290530 - 29/12/2008 13:59

Hi everyone, where are you all?

Today it is very cold here and I am having a day where I just can't seem to fill my tummy up.

Its daft, I have had biscuits and tea when I woke up (early) then breakfast at the normal time, then I have had the most huge amount of cheese and biscuits etc, then followed by mince pies - I should feel stuffed but I don't certainally not satisfied and now I am wondering what hearty meal I can plan for my supper tonight.

Its strange as I was so proud of myself over Christmas etc and it felt effortless but today there is just not enough food for me.

Its not a particular food I am craving, its just food and a lot of it.

Does anybody else get days like this - should I just go with the flow or get strict with myself??

I don't want to start having good and bad foods again....

Help

Good Afternoon Gilley I have had quiet a few of these days
I just eat what I want even if it seems a lot tomorrow you may not want to eat very much at all .
Why not make a huge pot of veggie soup and have it with nice bread that usually satisfies me

Good afternoon, gilley and Spanishlady. Gilley we've all had days like that when we seem to feel really hungry for no good reason. Just go with the flow, as long as you are really hungry, and not just thirsty or bored.

SL's suggestion of a big bowl of soup is one that I would second. I always feel better when I've had some fruit and/or veg, as a change from all the stodge, and your digestive transit will thank you for it later .

Hi Spanishlady and Sella_vee,

That bowl of homemade veggie soup sounds wholesome and fullsome with some chunky bread and real butter.

Ooh, I have put the breadmaker on and am roasting some veggies (fuller flavour) for a lovely soup as we speak.

I think it is mainly that I am so tired (can't sleep at the moment - even with pmk) and the day is so dull and cold and probably a touch of loneliness too that is making me feel so empty.

Thanks Girls
xx

Hi Gilley, I hope your soup turns out well. I made watercress soup for lunch today and it was very filling.

I agree we all get days when we seem to feel hungry all day. Being tired certainly makes me want to eat more too - I think the body gets confused - it knows that energy levels are low, and that food provides energy, so heads for the larder when perhaps it would be better to head for bed!

Is there anything in particular stopping you sleeping? I've had a few bad nights recently, but took a co-codamol last night as I had a headache, and it knocked me out - I had a wonderful night's sleep.

Gilley what about a nice hot whiskey before you go to bed.
glass of hot water, good dash of whiskey (irish is best)
sugar or honey, lemon slices or juice and a few cloves you will sleep like a baby and probably snore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone
I agree the time between Christmas and New Year (Twixtmas?) is a funny time. Today I didn't feel like eating much either.

Cup of coffee
Breakfast
porridge with nat yog and a small banana

Lunch
An apple
3 Ryvitas and cherry tomatoes

Dinner
Jacket potato with cottage cheese
Green salad
3 berry juice

Evening
Skinny Cow lolly
Little packet of raisins
Cup of coffee

Mr F and I went to the sales in London. We bought a small table in Selfridges (which was NOT in the sale!!). Mr F. has an unerring knack of liking things which aren't in the sale for some reason.

I bought two Sweaty Betty tops which were half price and some make up which wasn't!

Don't you find that hot food at lunchtime fills you up for longer than a salad or something cold ? I make alot of veggie soup in the pressure cooker and we just dip into it in the fridge during the week.
