What bad habits are you planning to drop or indeed what good habits are you planning to start?!!! I intend to try and stop biting the skin around my nails and to ensure that I always take my makeup off at night (I sometimes forget!!) What are yours? Tanya

I'm planning to stop dying my hair which I've been doing for nearly 30 years. As I have very thick and fast growing hair it's cost me a fortune over the years.
It's now completely silver and my hairdresser has assured me it will look great. Had to visit a number of salons before anyone agreed to cut it without dying it out. Finally invested in an excellent cut with a stylist who told me that it would not look it's best for a few weeks until all the blonde has gone but that we could work together to sort it out.
All I need now is to hope that I'll start looking like Helen Mirren (we are the same age after all)!! Only in my dreams I fear.

mine is to find out what is irritating my skin.
I'm never been spotty but have always had blemished skin around my nose and cheeks. Just changing my make-up remover helped so I'm convinced it's due to irritants in the face products.
i'm determined to find out what the new year...probably with a dermatologist

I think mine should be to get my hair cut more often, my hair (& nails) grow like weeds , I have long hair & love it but I tend to just trim my fringe as needed (the Dulux dog look isn't in this season) but I am never happy these days with hairdressers as I ask for one thing & they just gaily go ahead & cut off too much or ignore what I asked for

Citygirl. I know exactly what you mean. The previous hairdresser to the current one told me I'd look great with longer hair then chopped it to within an inch of it's life. Just glad I didn't ask for it short! This prompted me to pay for a really good cut at Vidal Sassoon(s/p?) in Edinburgh, cost a lot but has proved worth it and lasted longer (I also have hair that grows like weeds) and more importantly I feel in control of how I look as the style was a joint decision between me and the stylist.

Optimistic - just a thought, if the blemishes are specifically on your nose and cheeks and the area is generally inflamed, google 'rosacea' it may help.
My resolution is to actually use some of my masks and exfoliators. I have a drawer full!

Similar to Mrs T - find time to use a mask at least once in a blue moon. Also start to use all the free samples that come in magazines rather than putting them in a makeup bag and forgetting about them.

Yes one of mine is definitely to spend more time on 'grooming' and paying attention to my skin as I'm a bit lazy on that front. Also need to stop nibbling the skin round my nails too Tanya! Oh, and to drink more water....

Essentials this month gave away a Olay mask - it consists of a stretchy cloth soaked in face pack stuff and it left my skin looking and feeling wonderful.

Following my op. I am now bang into the menopause big style, so my New Year changes will be to
- watch my weight - back to the slimming club - drink loads of water every day - give myself time to moisturise my body (not just my face) - treat myself to a having my excess facial hair professionally removed - not just my eyebrows!

I am going to let my hair go back to it's natural colour...white at the front and gawd knows what at the back..
I'm posting this so I can hold myself to it. I've tried to do it before but I've weakened and got out the old bottle blonde stuff again. I've seen a lot of women with white hair and it can look really good. So I'm hoping mine will look okay as well...
I'll let you know how it's going round about oooh...april or may!!!

Every. now and then I make the same decision but once I see the grey roots coming through when they are about 1/2 inch long I chicken out and say no way and get it done again. Best of luck. I am quite good at looking after myself except in one area..... I am usually so tired at night that I cannot push myself to cleanse and moisurise. That will be my new year beauty regime.

I am going to spend the whole year taking better care of myself. I am a real product junkie and have loads of stuff that I use once and then don't use again, not because the product is rubbish but because of laziness and being in a rut. I think I am trying to say that I let myself go a bit this year and I am determined to get myself back again. I am going to celebrate my feminity - sorry if that sounds cheesy but I have developed a bit of a tomboy persona over the last year which I am not happy with and which I have fallen into, and I am also going to get my figure back. It's a year long project. This is going to sound daft but what the heck - I am use as my role model, Cherie Lunghi. She is 10 years + older than me, and a bit of a cold fish, but she knows how to take care of herself. So I am going to say to myself - Would Cheryl not do her hair? Would Cheryl eat that? You get my drift!

Hi Thimble Just an idea for you regarding cleansing and moisturising .......
When I get home in the evening and I am not going out again, I take my make-up off early in the evening and cleanse and moisturise then. Somehow when I am not tired it is easier to do it properly!

Hi Cupcake, snap. My hair is now very fetching? blonde and silver stripes since I made the decision in late September to let it revert back to what is now very clearly silver. I'm getting quite excited about it now and have noticed how many women there are now sporting natural silver/grey.
I do however know that you need to have a really good cut, grow it a bit longer and keep it in perfect condition to get away with it.
Something positive has come out of the virus I've been suffering from - didn't WANT to go out - perfect for hair growing. I've also bought myself a lovely little beret which covers my hair when I feel it needs to look a little less transient.
Stick in there. You can always dye it again.
Next, the body - can't be silver AND fat.
Good luck.
