EDINBURGH BOOK GROUP - JANUARY
      #274691 - 09/12/2008 22:04

The book for January is 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Hosseini.

I believe we agreed on 7th January at HR. If I'm wrong can someone let me know please.

I am not planning to send any other reminders as I just have too much on my plate at present. Hope you'll all understand.

I finally became a Great Aunt last Wednesday when Zachary was born. Mum, Dad and baby doing well. I've developed a sudden interest in children's books - have already bought him two books! Am I being unrealistic?

Regards
Pat

Congratulations on becoming a Great Aunt Pat.

Children just love books and I must have bought dozens over the years for my lot. They are now as adults prolific readers so I really feel I got that bit right!

Delighted that we are reading this book. I have already read it but look forward to it again. It is truly wonderful and so moving.

I was watching Kate Winslett on TV last night. She is starring in the film adaptation of The Reader and is tipped for an Oscar. Cant wait to see it when it is released.

I hope you all have a great Christmas and I look forward to seeing you on the 7th Jan. I take it we are at your place Pat.

Best wishes,

Elizabeth

Hi All,

apologies but I won't be able to make it tonight. Have been trying to shake of a nasty cough for last 2 weeks but it just keep getting worse - don't think coughing all through the evening will be helpful! It's disappointing as i really enjoyed the book - anyway, hope to be at the next one.

Megan
