NEW YEAR IN NEWCASTLE 2009 (6th Jan)
      #269155 - 02/12/2008 21:11

Hi to the regulars in the Newcastle Supper Club. Sorry we haven't been able to get anything organised for December. I think we are all too busy. There is always the 10th Dec at Whitley Bay if you can get there. Just contact Jean Gregory or Moco (Maureen).
Anyway Jean and I have been talking and we are planning a night on Tuesday 6th January. If you have any suggestions where to go just let me know. Anyone is welcome.

Anne
"Merry Chrismas and a Happy New Year".

Hi Anne,

I'd love to join you on 6th Jan, but Tuesdays are difficult for me as I do some voluntary work until 8.30pm which I'm guessing would be too late. Hopefully I'll get to the next one!

Carol

Hi Anne
Yes, I think that you are right regarding trying to do something before Christmas now, but if anyone wanted to meet for morning coffe/lunch before christmas or the 6th let me know and we can arrange something.
Will inform my non-cyber SC members and let you know if they have any preference where they want to eat ok? Sorry unable to make it Whitley Bay.
"Happy Christmas and New Year" to you all.

How about Blue Coyote in Pilgrim Street . It does a mixture of Tex Mex and lots of other dishes Its ages since I've been there but it was good. Has anyone been recently?

Hi Everyone,

I think Chinese would be a good suggestion as we haven't been Chinese for a long time. Also New year is a good time to go Chinese. Shall we book the same place as last time? Also remind me of the name and I will book it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR !

Anne

what about the suggestion of tex mex by sarahgill? I haven't been before & it would be nice to try something different. Or I have heard good reports of a new Turkish restaurant opposite Barker & stonehouse which is good for people coming by car for parking near by.Think it is one of the advantages of the club to try new places, just a thought.

Either sounds fine to me. I have been to Blue Coyote and although I'm not a fan of Mexican I found the menu to be fine. Turkish sounds fine too....I just thought Chinese was very New Year.... Let me know where you all fancy....

I would prefer Chinese to Mex but wouldn't mind trying the Turkish, its somewhere we havent been before isnt it? Peg, says she will go with any decision, so will Christine, and I am sure Liz will to, so whatever you deciede Anne.

THE TURKISH RESTAURANT IS CALLED RED MEZZE & IS ON LEAZES PARK ROAD. I HAVE NOT TRIED THIS PLACE ONLY HEARD SOME POSITIVE FEED BACK, BUT IT WOULD BE NICE TO TRY SOMETHING NEW.

Ok. Turkish it is. I will book the Red Mezze on Leazes Road opposite Barker and Sonehouse for 7pm on Jan 6th for 8 people and we can see if anyone else wants to come. That's Felicity, Sarah, Anne, Anne, Jean, Liz, Peg and Christine. Suzanne, are you coming along? Anyone else is invited. Just let me know.

Anne

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.
