Guerlain Foundation
      #260068 - 21/11/2008 16:10

Hello all

I was given a sample of Guerlains foundation and it has the most incredible feel to it (and the most incredible price - something like thirty four pounds I think lol

Have any of you ever tried the Guerlain skin care range ?

Lillie,

work out how much it costs, how many uses you get from a bottle, then calculate how much it costs per wearing.

A cheaper foundation that needs to be touched up a couple of times during the day can work out dearer than an expensive brand that lasts all day.

And...an expensive foundation worn every day is cheaper per wearing than a dress you only wear a few times!

But..you must wear it! Keeping it for best doesn't do you any good. If it makes you feel great, then it's worth every penny.

..wispa

Hi Bel and Wispa

Thats a good way of looking at things Wispa. Yes I would be wearing it every day, so would work out not as expensive as the initial layout sounds !! Cant wait to use some more of it tomorrow, and you literally dont use very much at all, it just glides over the face

I bought a guerlain bronzer in duty free, smells lovely, and think it is worth the expense, the quality is so much better.

I'm a great believer in working out the cost per wear - whether it's clothes or make-up.

I would rather have 3 "posh" lipsticks I love than 10 cheapies I like. A mascara that lasts all day is better value than one that wears off by lunchtime. And a foundation that makes me feel great is much better for my self esteem than one that makes me feel okay.

I buy two nail enamels a year - both Chanel. One summer, one winter. Put it on on Friday, lasts a week. Cheaper stuff needs to be touched up every day. But I do share it with my daughter, althoug somehow I end up paying!

The only exceptions are cleaser and moisturiser. A cheap cleanser that I can slap on and use thoroughly is better than an expensive one used sparingly. Same applies to moisturiser.

I just treated myself to a bottle of parure Aqua Foundation from Guerlain for xmas.
It was very very expensive but after trying a sample I had to have it!
It makes me look 10 years younger and loads of people have said i look younger and so well without me mentioning the foundation.
So on balance I feel its worth it!!!
It is a large and very posh bottle and should ast a good 3 - 4 months with constant daily use.

Hi Everyone,

Totally agree, I will always spend more on a foundation and mascara and of course moisturizer.

My latest foundation is a Chanel one, but no one as yet has told me I look years younger, its early days, mind you, I could be waiting forever.

Plasmo x
