There is a discussion in Your lives about ladies that post about death, serious illness etc and it is not always easy to find it, so they don`t get much of a response whereas other posts do. Out of respect for those people could we have a new topic, entitled Serious Issues, or something suitable.

I agree, Suzie, although it is nice that the forum has become such a fun place many of us have serious issues to discuss from time to time and as the forum has grown these seem to have become buried amongst all the mayhem.

Hi appleblossom
Thanks for your reply, I am quite new to the forum and I find it quite sad when I am in between lighthearted posts and some poor soul is desperately upset with a death or serious illness. I think they should have a separate place to post on the forum.

I do agree with you all. Most of the time "our Life" is hijacked by waves of topics with trivial subjects. You have to scroll down a while to find threads related to "our Life" but in a different, sometimes serious way. Why not set up a "chit chat" and a "real life" and "Love affairs" just to put a bit order in it?
Hopefully somebody will answer?

I will post this in the "Your Lives" too as it seems that everybody is chatting there.
Having reached my 100th post I claim the right to ask the Webstaff (if they even do monitor sometimes) to open a MEMBERS LOUNGE, pleeease, where neewbies could drop in and tell a little about themselves. I imagine it like a kind of waiting room where to exchange profiles and pieces of stories, just to warm up before jumping in to threads. Since I registered here 2 weeks ago another 111 new members have reached so far. Did you know it? I would like to meet them as I would like to meet the oldies too and introduce myself in a proper way. What do you think? Will you advocate for it?

As you can see I am a new member (joined yesterday) and it is rather intimidating. I've always read about the forum in the magazine and been really keen to join in all the fun; I've also spent several months browsing anonymously. However yesterday I decided to just take the jump and actually register ....! (New Year’s Resolution to make more effort to meet new people, get fit and out more!). It would be really nice if there were now some easier way of gently introducing myself. Perhaps it would encourage more 'anonymous' viewers to actually register too?

Welcome Joff
It is difficult at first but everyone is very friendly. You can announce you are a newbie on the other sections if you like.

I think the whole site needs a complete make-over. It is getting far too big for the present format where practically everything serious or trivial is put in the Your Lives section. I have an elderly friend who is a member of the Saga site and they could do well to look at that as it is divided into sections including an Introducting Myself.

I agree with Suzie88 regarding finding help with serious issues. I would like advice on dealing with divorce but when I have gone into the "Our Life" section some of the stuff is just not relevant. I would like to say that the people on the site seem very friendly, people have already welcomed me to 2 supper clubs which I am really looking forward to. I haven't figured out how to post a picture but someone sent me some very good instructions so I will try one day... scholesy

That is a good idea Suzie. A few more categories would be good.
Are they listening do you think ............ ????

Hi Joff I joined a week or so ago.I didnt really introduce myself which was probably a bit silly really.Didnt really know what to do tell you the truth. So,i just plunged in with stuff about our new Wii Fit.Had lots of replies and felt we were all having a real laugh.I have pm a couple of ladies about supper clubs and walking clubs and they have both replied really quickly and sound so friendly.Truly, just be bold and get in there.

I totally agree with we should have added topics, particularly a serious topics. It is very difficult when someone has posted a serious issue in amongst light hearted posts. Can this be added please?

As well as a serious issues section and an introducing yourselves I would also like to see a Cinema and Television section as quite a few of us like to discuss this topic and yet again it is hidden amongst your lives. There are far too many members now with diverse interests to have everything under one heading.
