Hi SBQ. What a great idea. Should cut down on the travelling for you. Good luck with it. Did you get the last person who left a post on the EBC who also lived out your way. If not let me know and I'll PM it to you.

Regards
Poppyc

Hi all,
I would be interested in joining a book club if you are looking for members. I am in the Stirling area but would be willing to travel.

How far is Bathgate from Stirling then, I live in a place called Menstrie, and nearby there is a great Farm/Coffee Bothy, delicous snacks, sweets, lovely shop to browse in and good place to chat, but may be too far, or where would suit you?

I work part time, so working tomorrow (fri), ideas to you SBQ and Katz, look forward to hearing from you soon. I will be online again over weekend.

Hi SBQ and cherryblossom,
Cherryblossom you and I live very near to each other so maybe be could travel together to meet up with SBQ as it is a bit of a distance for her to travel from Bathgate to the Coffee Bothy, lovely though it is!

What about Linlithgow or Falkirk It would be easier for SBQ to get there.

Any one else interersted in joining us and make a suggestion as to where to meet?

I am on holiday at the moment but return to work on Monday 15 and work Monday to Friday. however can organise days off if it suits others to meet during the day.

Am off this week to help move youngest to uni and struggling with it!!!!!

If Falkirk suits us all, can we agree this and then look at a day, date, time and venue?

I work Monday to Friday but available evenings and weekends, also have days which I can take off, so will try to accommodate to fit in with others.

Anyone want to suggest a date?

Ok...we're getting there
How about a Friday afternoon?? to start with

I only know the Howgate Centre or a restaurant/bar called Behind the Wall?
It's a sort of Mexican themed place but has a nice conservetary where we could sit? and a lot of ladies go there.
Other than thatI'm not knowledgeable about Falkirk, but if you know of somewhere, I'm happy to go

I'd like to make a suggestion about the books??
How about we all bring the title and author of a book we would like to read...put it in a hat? and chose one ... that way we all know what the next 3-4 books are going to be? It also gives the group an idea of what our likes/dislikes are.
It's just that at the Edinburgh Book Club that seemed to be our biggest challenge...picking the book!

Hope to see you all soon

Hello SBQ,

Unfortunately I work every friday, and cant change it as its my Rostered day. I hate being the one to spoil a good idea to start with as its taken a while to actually get going, if you guys want to carry on then do so I totally understand it is not going to be easy to suit everyone.

I can do a tuesday afternoon, wed afternoon, poss thursday, but cant manage thurs night, if this does not suit anyone again just organize something and I will have to join when I can.

The idea about all bringing/suggesting book title is a good one and a very fair way of doing it.

Will wait to see what you all decide

I can certainly pick you up cherryblossom so don't worry.

I can book some time off for a Wed afternoon. How about 8 Oct or 15 Oct. If you let me know which date suits asap I can see about organising the time off.

Liked the idea about us all bringing a book title and putting it in the hat.

Also agree with venue Behinds the Wall, the conservatory is a good place to meet.

Went to a book reading on last thursday night, by Val McDermid. She was excellent and would recommend her to anyone.
