Courtroom drama: any recommendations?
      #184841 - 02/09/2008 19:56

I particularly enjoy courtroom drama, but am having a lot of difficulty finding books written from this perspective. Many seem to be out of print and not in my local library. I am not fond of blood and guts just for the sake of horrifying the reader, but am fascinated by the unfolding of cases by lawyers. Just wondered if anyone could recommend particular books or authors, not necessarily modern. Many thanks and happy reading everyone , bordersue

I'm guessing you've read the early John Grisham's? I don't think I know of any others unless you consider stories like To Kill A Mockingbird - that was a courtroom drama I think?

What about Rumpold of the Bailey, I think was written by John Mortimer. Also I would say John Grisham's, The Juror. I will put my thinking hat on, and see what I can remember. Sometimes putting court room dramas in a search engine might be Able to find something for you. Or try one of the big on line book shops and they have search engines.

What about the old Perry Masons? I think they were written by Erle Stanley Gardner.
