With new members joining every day, I thought it would be useful to share some tips for using the forums.
Remember that our forums are public and can be viewed by anybody on the Internet, not just forum users. Do not give out personal details such as your address, phone number, email address etc, in a post or on your profile.
If you are planning to meet up with other forum members - for a Supper Club, Walking Club or reader event - contact each other via private message for personal communication. Private messages can only be viewed by the recipient, and are not displayed publicly.
We want the woman&home forums to be a friendly environment, so please treat each other with respect. Remember that comments can be misconstrued when written down as the tone of voice is not conveyed. It's best to read your post back before you submit it!
We hope you enjoy being a part of this wonderfully supportive community.
Do PM me if you have any queries.

You might see that a number of users are v concerned that their details come up under a google search
Are you able to do anything about this please?

*May I then suggest that the W&H team take off the email option found in the user options which invites members to put their email address openly on their ID forum page and there for all to see!

Hi Pippa Thanks for your comments I was telling some friends about the forum and they guessed my "name" I had given, so I have changed it today. I too am concerned about who can access this site.

I think that's a good idea because it is good to tell people about this site, think I will do the same.

I shan't bother. I've put nothing in my profile that I would worry about anyone knowing.

Pippa - Can you answer some queries that are growing day by day,and in various posts, please.
What is the age group that W & H is marketed for.
What type of people are the magazine hoping to attract?
and now the big one!!
Does W & H have an issue with the over 40's.
Remember:-We have all been babies, children, teenagers, young ladiesand/or young mums, etc, etc. so by definition of evolution we all get older and that's a fact!!

Pippa,
My question is simple.
Why do you never reply to any of the questions posted on this forum? A few weeks ago I sent your editor an email, and yourself a thread.
I agree with everything annemari has said above.

Hi Hilary42. I think your post might not be seen here. Try re-posting on the Your Lives part of the forum, as a separate new post, to introduce yourself and also on the Supperclub message board to ask if anyone would like to meet for coffee. There might also be a supperclub in that area as well. I've sent you a message - click on the flashing envelope underneath your name (next to User Options) at the top of the page to open.

Why is it that we hardly ever get a response from any of you on the Woman and Home team on these issues and others raised by us forum and paying magazine readers? Do you forget, like I often do, to scroll down the page of forums and look at your Feed Back forum?

I have just seen that you announced new changes to the forums in this February's issue of Woman and Home magazine but still you have the option and invite the forumer, on ones User Options page, to add your personal email address with out making it totally clear there to the person that anyone can see it and that they don't have to be a registered forum user to do so!!

Aprilshowers, you are better off looking on the supperclub board and making a post asking if there is a club in your area.
Welcome to the forum

Pippa We really would appreciate a reply to our concerns about the lack of space afforded to the Forums since yesterdays changes. We are all dissapointed that we seem to have been marganalised and some with poor eye site are finding it particulary difficult. i think we are all aware that the advertising is a necessary componant of running the site but PLEASE not surrounding the area where your faithful and loyal customers are networking. Please may we have a response please? both you and the editor Sue have asked for feed back. This is important to a huge number of women and, whilst no one likes change, I think the over whelmingly negative responses to the new format should not be ignorred by you . Please tell us what you propose doing about it . Thank you for reading my post. I look forward to an answer very soon. PS if there is a way to switch off the adverts and widden the page could toy [post how to do it. Again Thanks......in anticipation!

Hola Pippa I hope you read this and send me a reply , since the forum was changed I have been having problems with it apart from the look of it . now when I post I t just hangs there I have to get out of W+H close down everything and then open it all again. I am really thinking of not using the forum as it is such a pain , the only reason I stay is because of the FFs and friends I have made on here. I I buy the magazine costs me a small fortune here in Spain and there are plenty of ads in there we DO NOT NEED MORE any way to sum up I hate the new forum it is slow it does not work and I may stop using it and If I do will stop buying the mag as well looking forward to hearing from you Maria Clery
