Oooops sorry, have realised that I have not added my bit. I read the book quite some time ago on the way back from Oman when I was being sick constantly so that did colour my view of it, as thinking about it brings that back.

(and no I hadn't been drinking Sealover!)

I did enjoy it and quite like the style of writing and the insights into teenage daughters!

No wonder you forgot to post your review! Very brave of you to think back to what must have been a horrible journey. I'm glad you enjoyed the book, though, despite being ill!

I only found this book group on March 29th so had to order from Amazon and read it quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and got a real feel for Tahiti. Phrases such as 'Virgin Mother UnderstanDing Woman' I loved! The lasting feeling I got from the book was one of hope and the importance of believing in yourself which is a sentiment that belongs to any community. Does anyone know what 'Maururu' means? Did it tell me and I missed it?

I still have not finished this book!!! my only excuse is being busy!!

However I have started reading this month's book, so I will be able to post at the end of the month. Who knows, I might even do two reviews!!

Never mind, Foxie, you'll catch up! Just to make you feel bad (or good, coz you're doing more interesting things than me!), I've already finished this month's, too!

Elaine, I looked Maururu up on Google and apparently it means 'Thank you and goodbye'. There you go. What more can you ask from a forum: fun, advice, information and language lessons, all for free! And next time you go to Tahiti, you'll have something to say!
